Alan Shearer

United legend Alan Shearer has been voted one of the two best strikers from the 20 seasons of the Premier League.

As part of the Premier League's 20 Seasons celebrations - which are designed to honour the players, managers and football that has taken place over the two decades of the world's most watched and supported football league - a couple of fantasy teams have been voted for.

The public got the chance to pick their team of the past 20 seasons, with more than 300,000 votes being cast around the world, while a panel of 11 experts, commentators and administrators also selected their starting XI, both in a 4-4-2 formation.

And Shearer, who tops Newcastle's goalscoring records with 206 goals during a ten-year stay on Tyneside, was picked by both the public and the panel. The striker also had a prolific spell at Blackburn before his switch to the North-East, where he bagged a Premier League winners medal in 1994/95.

In both the public and panel teams, Shearer was named up front alongside former Arsenal front man Thierry Henry

Unsurprisingly, Manchester United players dominated the line-ups, while there were also representatives from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
