Cisse's Sights Are On Success

Written by Newcastle Utd

Papiss Cisse chats exclusively to nufc.co.uk, telling us he wants to fire Newcastle into Europe at the end of the season

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Papiss Cisse has vowed to fire Newcastle into Europe, having continued his prolific start to life on Tyneside against Norwich.

The former SC Freiburg striker, who arrived in the January transfer window, bagged his third goal for his new employers with an outstanding early strike and could have had even more as he looked a real threat throughout Sunday's fixture.

Averaging better than goal every other game for the Magpies, Cisse was delighted to find himself on the scoresheet once again and told nufc.co.uk in an exclusive interview that he wants to bring success to the Club.

"It was a great win against Norwich," he said.

"We didn't play as well as we can do, but it was important that we got three points -  that was all that mattered. And we hadn't won in a few games, so we were all happy to win.

"I had a few chances and was not happy with myself for missing the first one, but after that I was very happy to put it right with a fantastic goal.

"All my goals have come at home and I love scoring here at this stadium. The fans are fantastic and I want to keep scoring, keep winning games and get Newcastle into Europe next season."
