Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has been voted as the signing of the season, by managers in the Barclays Premier League.
The Senegalese front man made a free transfer switch to Tyneside last summer and has gone on to find the back of the net 16 times in just 24 top flight appearances to date, including hat-tricks against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
And according to recent research by Barclays, title sponsor of the League Managers Association (LMA), more than half of the country's bosses - 56 per cent - gave Ba their vote as the signing of the season so far.
He comfortably beat Manchester United's Phil Jones and Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker (both 13 per cent) to the title.
A range of categories were voted on by Premier League managers, and when it came to the best performers by position, Ba took third place in the striker's section with 19 per cent. Arsenal's prolific front man Robin van Persie led the way with a quarter of the votes, just ahead of Sergio Aguero, of Manchester City (19 per cent).
And Ba wasn't the only Newcastle presence in the survey. Tim Krul was voted as the fifth-best goalkeeper in the top flight, while the Sports Direct Arena came third as the stadium which creates the best matchday atmosphere.
