A Rams Rearrangement

Written by Newcastle Utd

The postponed Premier Academy League Group D match between leaders Newcastle and third placed Derby has been given a new date

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Leaders Newcastle will travel to third placed Derby County in the Premier Academy League Group D next month, after the original fixture was postponed.

United were due to travel to the Moor Farm Academy in January, but it was cancelled ahead of the Magpies' FA Youth Cup match against Watford and the Rams' tie against Manchester United.

It will now be played on Wednesday, March 21st with a 1pm kick-off.

Dave Watson's juniors have been top of the table for most of the season, with 32 points from 15 games. Derby are five points behind, having played a game more.

When the two sides met at Little Benton in November, Newcastle ran out 4-3 victors. They surged into a 4-0 lead with a brace from Dan Taylor, a JJ Hooper goal and an Andy Dales own goal before Derby almost staged a late comeback thanks to Will Hughes and an Alex Witham double.
