Mixed Injury News For Magpies Pair

Written by Newcastle Utd

One of Newcastle United's youngsters has been ruled out for up to three months, but another is nearing a comeback

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

There is mixed injury news about two of Newcastle's young fringe players.

Midfielder Michael Richardson has been ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury.

But Paul Dummett is due to resume full training after returning from an ankle problem of his own.

Richardson, who was named on the bench on a handful of occasions last season, suffered his injury in training and is currently on crutches.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals in eight Barclays Premier Reserve League starts so far this term.

However, his former Kenton School classmate Dummett should be back in action shortly.

He was hurt in the Reserves' friendly win over York back in October.

The 20-year-old left-back had been part of the senior squad in the pre-season tour of the USA, and was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest in the Carling Cup in September.
