Sir Richard Branson, the entrepreneur and owner of Newcastle United's new shirt sponsors, met some of the players at Virgin Money's Newcastle high street branch.
He proudly wore a Magpies shirt with his company's logo on the front as he chatted to Mike Williamson, Davide Santon and Sammy Ameobi at the store in Northumberland Street.
Virgin Money recently took over Northern Rock, and have now agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with the club which saw United wear the new logo for the first time in their win over Manchester United last week.
As well as speaking to the players - and enjoying a kickabout outside - Sir Richard met members of the public and Virgin Money staff.
Sir Richard told nufcTV: "Twenty years ago, we sponsored Crystal Palace and they got to the FA Cup final. Then last week, we sponsored Newcastle and they beat Manchester United 3-0.
"So we're a lucky brand, and may the luck continue throughout the rest of the season."
