Academy striker Dan Taylor has signed for Ashington on a work experience loan from Newcastle United.
It means the 18-year-old, who finished as the top scorer for the Magpies' junior side last term, can gain valuable playing time and come up against older players while continuing to train with the Magpies.
He scored his first Reserve team goal against Bolton last week, and played against the Colliers in November's Northumberland FA Senior Cup quarter-final victory.
Ashington are currently eighth in the Northern League First Division table, but have games in hand on every team above them due to their run to the final qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Taylor joins a host of former Magpies at Woodhorn Lane, including Darren Lough, James Taylor, Liam Atkin, Matthew Grieve and Jonny Godsmark.
His Ashington debut is set to come on Boxing Day, when the Colliers are away to Bedlington Terriers.
