James Tavernier played the final game of his three-month loan spell at Carlisle and helped the Cumbrians keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw at Exeter.

The defender, who turned 20 on October 31, has made 16 appearances for the League One side since signing for them in mid-August.

And, just as he did during a spell with Gateshead last term, he has impressed throughout.

As Tavernier played his last game, Ole Soderberg made his first appearance for fellow League One outfit Chesterfield after joining them during the week.

They also gained an draw - 2-2 with bottom-of-the-table Yeovil - having twice taken the lead.

Another young Magpies goalkeeper, Jak Alnwick, was involved in a 2-2 as Gateshead were held at home by Braintree.

Jeff Henderson was an unused substitute as Micky Cummins gave Ian Bogie's the side only for Jai Reason's penalty and Andrew Yiadom's goal to turn the game on it's head.

Former United youngster Martin Brittain scored the equaliser.

Fraser Forster's Celtic and Steve Harper and Kazenga LuaLua's Brighton are both in action on Sunday.
