Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye won his seventh cap for France on Friday night as they beat Albania 3-0 in a Euro 2012 qualifier.

Cabaye played 47 minutes for Les Bleus, who top Group D with 20 points from their nine games to date. France were two up thanks to goals from Florent Malouda and Loic Remy before Cabaye's withdrawal, and Anthony Reveillere put the result beyond any doubt midway through the second period.

United goalkeeper Tim Krul was an unused substitute as Holland beat Moldova 1-0 in Group E. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar struck the only goal of the game five minutes before half-time for the Netherlands, who had already qualified for the finals, but guaranteed top spot with the victory.

Meanwhile, youngster Joan Edmundsson had a night to forget as Faroe Islands Under 21s went down to a heavy defeat away in Denmark. The attacker missed a penalty in the 54th minute with the Faroes two down, and they ended up on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline.
