Richardson Returns

Written by Newcastle Utd

Michael Richardson is back at Newcastle following his one-month loan spell at League One Leyton Orient

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Michael Richardson has returned to Newcastle United after his one-month loan at Leyton Orient came to an end.

Midfielder Richardson started twice for the League One side, scoring once, and made two further appearances from the bench.

Orient have registered just one point in the league from six games - a 0-0 draw at Chesterfield on Saturday - and are currently bottom of their division.

They are, however, through to the third round of the Carling Cup, with the 19-year-old Magpie scoring his first senior goal in their first round win over Southend on what was his full debut.

Richardson, who was named on the bench on a handful of occasions for Newcastle last season, will come into contention for United's second Barclays Premier Reserve League game of the season, at home to Norwich next week.
