Newcastle have a trip to Glanford Park to look forward to after being drawn away to Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup

Newcastle United have been drawn away to League One Scunthorpe in the second round of the Carling Cup.
The Magpies were number 12 in the draw, which took place on Thursday evening with Lawrie Sanchez and Trevor Francis picking out the balls.
Newcastle's only competitive visit to Glanford Park came in the Championship winning season of 2009/10, when Chris Hughton's side lost 2-1 to The Iron in October 2009, although they have also previously played at their previous home, The Old Show Ground.
United were 3-0 winners at St. James' Park in March 2010 and won the only previous League Cup meeting between the sides - a 2-0 victory at St. James' Park in September 1961.
Scunthorpe were relegated from the Championship last season and Alan Knill's side reached the second round with a 2-0 win at Accrington, who Newcastle faced at this stage of the competition last term.
Second round ties are due to be played on Tuesday, August 23 or Wednesday, August 24 and nufc.co.uk will have details of the definite date once it is confirmed.
