United lose to Orlando City after Kevin Molino's 76th minute strike at the Citrus Bowl.

by Rob Scanlon- Newcastle United Video Reporter

United slipped to a narrow defeat at the Citrus Bowl courtesy of a second half goal from Kevin Molino. With 25 minutes to go, Molino tapped home from 10 yards after a surging run from fellow substitute Dennis Chin. Haris Vuckic had a goal wrongly disallowed shortly afterwards following good work by James Tavernier, but the hosts deserved their victory after an energetic display.

Fraser Forster pulled off a number of fine saves in the Magpies goal, notably from Lewis Neal and Molino as the game became stretched after the interval. Alan Pardew's side now travel to Columbus for the final leg of their Stateside tour.

Text commentary-

90 min- Full time. Orlando City 1 Newcastle United 0

90 min- The lively sub, Dennis Chin jinks his way into the box and his deflected shot hits the side netting. Corner to Orlando.

89 min- Abeid shoots from 15 yards out but his right footed effort is wide of the mark and we are into the 90th minute now.

86 min- A corner is forced by Enrique. Jonas takes the kick and as Gallardo spills the cross, Steven Taylor nearly dabs the ball home but the defender's attempt to poke home the equaliser is denied by the last defender on the left post.

84 min- Outstanding save from Forster who gets a left glove to a sizzling deflected shot from goalscorer Molino. Top reaction stop.

82 min- DISALLOWED GOAL. James Tavernier breaks forward and plays the ball across goal to Vuckic who slots home from an acute angle only to see the assistant's flag denying him the equaliser.

79 min- Nearly a second for the rampaging reds of Orlando as Neal jinks in from the right and is only denied by a full stretch save from Forster away to his left. It's tipped around the post for a corner, which United clear.

75 min- The first goal of the Stateside tour and it's the Americans who deservedly go ahead. Dennis Chin sprinted clear and as he got into the area, he checked inside, drew a dive from Coloccini and squared the ball to Molino who sidefooted home from 10 yards out. A simple finish and the home crowd are buoyant.

75 min- GOAL Orlando City 1 (Molino) Newcastle United 0

73 min- Mehdi Abeid jogs on to replace Peter Lovenkrands, Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi come on for Leon Best and Alan Smith in a triple substitution as Alan Pardew tries to stem the tide of home attacks.

70 min- Orlando looking sharp and dangerous now as Boden strikes a left footed volley a couple of yards over from 25 yards out. Vuckic, who wasn't listed on the teamsheet, replaces Dan Gosling who was beginning to look weary on the left hand side.

66 min- An almost identical chance for Lewis Neal as he again has a great opportunity to break the deadlock but he squanders the chance and it skims past Forster's right hand post. The home crowd are really animated now as United prepare to bring Haris Vuckic on.

65 min- 10,889 are here tonight- the highest crowd at the Citrus Bowl this season. Enrique gives the ball away inside his own area and Luzunaris is inches away from scoring as he pulls his shot across goal and it flashes past the post.

64 min- Max Griffin has the best chance of the game so far as the forward is found 10 yards from goal in the left of the box. He shoots left footed- straight at Forster who shows strong hands as he beats the ball skywards.

62 min- Enrique goes on a typically powerful, fast run down the left and earns a corner when his cross is blocked near the by-line. The corner is aimed at Best who is well marshalled by his marker and the ball curves out for a goal kick.

59 min- Coloccini has been excellent yet again this evening. He was superb on Wednesday and he's continued in the same vein tonight. The United skipper has just made two calm interceptions and Newcastle have a corner from the ensuing attack. Jonas runs into trouble after taking the corner short.

55 min- A menacing cross from Jonas has Gallardo panicking as he spills the ball above Lovenkrands' head and has to hack the loose ball into touch. He then deals with a cross from Gosling with more proficiency as he collects the ball at his near post.

53 min- Nearly an opening for Newcastle as Enrique clips a ball over the defence and Lovenkrands tries to help it on to Best inside the area but the Orlando defence do enough to block the attack. Lovenkrands then diverts a header straight at the keeper as United start to press.

51 min- Forster hurries to smash the ball downfield with Luzunaris lurking when a backpass is a little underhit.

48 min- More streamers are thrown on which delays the freekick. When it is hit, the delivery strikes the United wall and the visitors are able to clear their lines.

47 min- Tiote challenges Molino, who replaced Watson at halftime, and it's a free kick 25 yards out, a shade to the left of centre.

46 min- The players are out for the second half. No changes at the interval for United who will kick from right to left. About five or six crumpled streamers lie in Forster's penalty area causing a delay as groundstaff help move them off.

45 min- The half time whistle sounds and after a rather listless first 35 minutes, the game sprung into life in the final 10 before the interval. The best chance for United fell to Lovenkrands but it's not been a classic so far. Orlando City 0 Newcastle United 0.

42 min- Gosling breaks into the penalty area from the left channel and goes to ground under a clumsy challenge- but the referee, and the over-excited stadium announcer, declare 'Play on!"

40 min- Another corner for United as Jonas sends in a whipped delivery that Steven Taylor nods on- Lovenkrands tries to poke home on the half-turn but Gallardo is there again to make the save and it's another corner. With red and white streamers near the quadrant, Jonas crosses but it's dealt with by Orlando.

38 min- Two incidents within a minute- a fabulous block by Coloccini at full stretch denies Luzunaris having a clear shot on goal 11 yards out after Orlando streamed forward in numbers. The Newcastle launch a swift movement down the left, Enrique gets to the by-line and goes for power rather than placement with a cross-cum-shot that Gallardo beats away for a corner. The corner is headed away and it remains goalless

35 min- Watson slips a through ball into the area for Griffin who is denied by the onrushing Fraser Forster- the giant stopper does well to hurtle off his line and smother the danger.

30 min- Enrique dinks a cross in from the left touchline but Gallardo takes an easy catch- the announcer screams his name to acclaim a regulation take. Orlando win a corner as Neal's shot is charged down. Jamie Watson curls the corner towards goal with his right foot and the ball again slips past everyone and United survive. 0-0 still

29 min- Max Griffin is felled 30 yards out. Lewis Neal, who had a spell with Leicester earlier in his career, takes the free kick but it's nodded away and United build a counter attack.

25 min- Alan Pardew is forced into an early change as Ryan Taylor is replaced by Jose Enrique. Taylor took a knock in the early stages and seemed to have recovered but he's been withdrawn.

23 min- Leon Best has his heels clipped by Yordany Alarez, who is a Cuban defector, 22 yards out on the right. Lovenkrands' left footed shot is underhit and strikes the wall and Gosling slices the rebound wide.

21 min- A tepid affair so far. United players still getting used to the artificial surface against a full strength Orlando side who have looked more at ease so far. We are yet to see a shot on target in this game.

19 min- Luzunaris arches his back to try and direct a header on goal from a left wing cross but his looping effort sails over from 13 yards out. Music is blasted out whilst Forster prepares to take the goal kick.

17 min- A quiet few minutes in play prompts the stadium announcer to bellow "Where are all the Newcastle United fans at?" There are also regular adverts being announced when the ball is out of play. Bizarre.

12 min- A second corner for Orlando as Coloccini denies Luzunaris a crossing chance by the corner flag. The set piece is swept in and Forster misses his punch but the ball evades a cluster of players in the box and runs out of play for a goal kick.

11 min- Cheik Tiote is told to calm down after a foul on Jamie Watson on the halfway line. No booking for the Ivorian enforcer.

8 min- Still a few fans filtering into the arena as James Tavernier does brilliantly to win the ball in his own half, work a one-two to set up an attack down the left. Best is blocked as he darts towards the area though and the move breaks down.

4 min- First attack for United as Jonas receives a pass from Alan Smith, runs diagonally infield and finds Leon Best who tries to turn and shoot on the edge of the area but he's tackled. Peter Lovenkrands then gets on the ball inside the box but is challenged, nearly loses his footing as he's forced wide and has to settle for a corner. The corner comes in and the referee blows for a foul in favour of Orlando and it's a free kick to the home side.

2 min- Early defending to do for Alan Pardew's side after Alan Smith surrenders possession on the edge of the box but Steven Taylor and James Tavernier combine to hoist the ball clear. Ryan Taylor then concedes the first corner of the game after a deep right wing cross. It just evades the onrushing Kieron Bernard and the ball is scrambled clear

1 min- United will kick from left to right in the first half, wearing their black and white home strip. The hosts are in all red with white trim and they will get us underway

0 mins- The players emerge from the tunnel into the giant 65,000 seater Citrus Bowl. There are lots of Toon fans here, with a crowd of 15,000 expected for tonight's game. Three members of Jackie Milburn's family are invited into the joint team photo after the National Anthems are completed.
