Pardew on Kansas Draw

Written by Newcastle Utd

Kansas was a 'decent result' says United manager Alan Pardew after stalemate at the Livestrong Sporting Park

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew, speaking to nufc.co.uk after the game said:

"It was really, really hot out there and for the public back in Newcastle, that's maybe hard to understand.

"As a result we looked a bit lethargic and heavy legged.

"Kansas were good opposition and it was a decent result for us. I thought they had some good players and put in a great performance.

"It's a shame there were no goals for the crowd but we had some good chances and were unlucky not to score. Sylvain, Ryan and Danny Simpson all came close but at times we lacked a bit of sharpness around the box.

"We've worked very hard in Kansas and now we're looking forward to Orlando."
