Fans Flock To See United In Kansas

Written by Newcastle Utd

American Magpies meet their heroes as United prepare for opening game of Stateside tour

Newcastle United's players undertook a signing session with supporters in Kansas last night and it proved to be a hugely popular event.

The players were besieged by fans from the local Kansas area as well as many United fans who were following the team Stateside.

Steven Taylor said: "I couldn't believe the amount of black and white shirts on show, it was surreal, just like being back in Newcastle!

"The welcome we have received in Kansas has been fantastic and all the lads were delighted to support the event.

"We're turning our attention to the match now and we can't wait for the kick-off.

"Pre-season is always tough but being in the US is very enjoyable and I'm sure it'll do us the world of good come the start of the Premier League on 13 August."
