Ryan Taylor

Ryan Taylor flew out to America with his Magpies team-mates on Sunday for Newcastle's tour of the States, and is excited about what lies ahead over the next two weeks.

Former Wigan man Taylor, who was a second half substitute in United's first pre-season friendly at Darlington on Friday, is eager to impress in the three Stateside fixtures against Sporting Kansas City, Orlando City and Columbus Crew.

And although he's holidayed in the sunshine state of Orlando before, the 26-year-old is looking forward to experiencing more of America as well as trying to keep himself at the forefront of Alan Pardew's plans for next season, having ended last term in the starting XI.

"I'd never been to Kansas before, and I've never been to Ohio, so it'll be a nice trip," he told nufc.co.uk.

"And I've never played against American opposition before so again, that'll be good.

"I'm sure the lads will benefit from it."
