Cheick Tiote

Cheik Tiote's dramatic long-range volley which completed an amazing comeback in the 4-4 draw against Arsenal has been chosen as's Newcastle United Goal of the Season.

Hatem Ben Arfa's stunning strike on his full debut at Everton and Kevin Nolan's overhead kick which set the ball rolling in the famous 5-1 win over Sunderland came second and third respectively in the eyes of our judging panel.

Hundreds of supporters emailed us their top three from a ten-goal shortlist with the aim of matching our choice - and Paul Tipp from Hartlepool was chosen at random after he picked the same three goals.

He wins the new Newcastle third shirt and a years subscription to nufcTV.

The ten goals in our shortlist can still be viewed on the homepage and are: Joey Barton's swerving shot against Aston Villa; Ryan Taylor's pearler against Accrington Stanley; Ben Arfa announcing himself to the Toon Army at Everton; Ryan Taylor's beautiful free-kick at Chelsea in the Carling Cup; Nolan's improvised derby day opener; Shola Ameobi's controlled strike in the same game; Andy Carroll's arrow against Liverpool; Fabricio Coloccini's chest control and scorching finish against Spurs; Tiote's never-to-be-forgotten goal; and Jonas Gutierrez's run and finish against Wolves.

Thanks to everybody who entered.
