Gunners First Up For United

Written by Newcastle Utd

Cracking start to the new season awaits the Magpies

NEWCASTLE United will begin their 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign with an eye-catching home game against North London giants Arsenal on August 13th.

The opening day tie is a re-run of the classic fixture from last season which ended in an incredible 4-4 draw after the Magpies recovered from 4-0 down.

And to complete a blockbuster start to the new season, United's first away game of the new campaign sees Alan Pardew's side make the short trip to Wearside to face North-East rivals Sunderland on August 20th.

United's second home fixture sees the Magpies face Fulham on August 27th before a trip to Championship title winners Queens Park Rangers on September 10th.

The season concludes on Sunday 13th May when Newcastle travel to Merseyside to face David Moyes' Everton.
