Nolan: "Roar Us On To Safety"

Written by Newcastle Utd

Club captain Kevin Nolan wants Newcastle's fans to continue their incredible support for the remaining nine games

By Anthony Marshall

United skipper Kevin Nolan has paid tribute to the Club's fans, and called on the black and white army to continue inspiring Newcastle's players for the remaining nine games of the season.

Whether it be home or away, against Accrington or Arsenal, in the Premier League or cup action, the Geordie faithful have continually made their presence felt in huge numbers.

That hasn't gone unnoticed in the dressing room at St. James' Park either, and with Newcastle needing just a few more points to secure top flight safety Nolan wants the supporters to roar them on to guaranteed survival.

"They are important every week whether we are at home or away," the midfielder told nufc.co.uk.

"The support they have given us this season and last has been fantastic.

"The way they get behind us, it genuinely feels like you are with them. We understand how they feel, and hopefully they know they have got a team here who want the absolute best for Newcastle United.

"Hopefully they will continue to support us the way they have done, continue to give us that fantastic support and then we will give them the results and performances that are needed between now and the end of the season."
