Magpies midfielder Cheick Tiote injured his hand in the 2-0 win at Birmingham last Tuesday - but will be fit for United's game against Bolton next Saturday.
A scan has has revealed a small fracture in the Ivorian enforcer's hand, but it will not keep him out of the Trotters fixture at Gallowgate.
Tiote, who scored his first United goal against Arsenal last time out at St. James' Park, has quickly become a fans favourite on Tyneside with his all-action combatitive displays.
He missed the 5-1 defeat at the Reebok Stadium in November through suspension. But the 24-year-old signing from FC Twente is only one booking away from a two-game ban, having picked up nine yellow cards so far this term.
