The excellent Jose Enrique declared himself satisified with a point against Chelsea after Sunday's 1-1 draw at St. James' Park.
Enrique was arguably the star man in a fantastic team performance as Newcastle matched the reigning champions and prevented them from going top of the league.
And although United did lead after six minutes, through Andy Carroll, a draw remained a good result for The Magpies despite Salomon Kalou's equaliser.
"Against this team, a draw is good," Enrique told nufcTV. "I know we were at home, but against Chelsea, who needed the points and who came here to win the three points, to get a draw is really, really good."
The result was particularly important after the previous weekend's heavy loss to Bolton, and Enrique admitted: "It was really important for our confidence.
"We think we can beat any team - and we can lose against anyone too! This league is a little bit crazy this season.
"We're in a good position, and the most important thing is to stay in a good position.
"Of course, if we can get a better position then that's good, but the most important thing for us is keeping our position in our first season back in the Premier League."
