Kickz helps young people achieve their goals through football. The aim is to engage young people in constructive activities, increase playing and coaching opportunities, break down barriers between the police and young people and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the target area.
With funding from the Football Foundation, Connexions and the Youth Service, Kickz takes place at Westgate Centre for Sport. Football coaching sessions and educational workshops take place twice a week, 48 weeks of the year. Up to 100 young people take part in each session.
Kickz is delivered in partnership with a number of partners, including Northumbria Police, Newcastle City Council, and Newcastle Youth Offending Team.
KICKZ is managed nationally by the Football Foundation. It is a joint initiative between the Premier League and police, and is supported nationally by the Government's Respect Task Force, Russell Commission and v charity.
