Funded by the Big Lottery Fund for three years, Family Football aims to encourage families to enjoy learning together.

Family Learning Coordinator Andrew Foster and Learning Support Assistant Marie Elliot are working closely with Family Learning Teams in Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside and Northumberland to deliver courses that will inspire parents and their children to learn together.

The five week courses are delivered in community settings such as schools, libraries and community centres and comprise one hour of classroom based learning and one hour of practical coaching. Participants will learn about staying safe, leading a fit and active lifestyle, as well as skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership.
