ANDY Carroll will return to Newcastle United's Benton headquarters on Thursday having been confined to his sick bed since the 1-0 win at Preston on Monday night.
The 20-year-old was forced him off during the second half at Deepdale and will not train with the rest of the squad until Friday at the earliest.
And, speaking to nufcTV on Thursday morning, boss Chris Hughton gave an update on Carroll's condition ahead of Saturday's Barrack Road clash with Swansea City.
"Andy will come back in today but won't train," explained the Toon chief.

"He's been very poorly and we'll monitor him over the next couple of days.
"When you've been that ill it takes it out of you so he's one we'll have to assess."
