CHRIS Hughton is confident that Danny Simpson will be back in action by the time Newcastle United travel to Sheffield United on Monday night.

The 22-year-old, on loan from Manchester United until January, missed Saturday's 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers because of a slight ankle problem.

But boss Chris Hughton told nufc.co.uk: "Danny had a slight problem at the weekend but he should be back in training by the middle of the week.

"And if everything goes ok then he'll be available for Monday night."
