NILE Ranger was on target during England's  7-1 mauling of Slovenia as the Three Lions booked their place in the semi-final of the Under-19 European Championships.

Needing a win to guarantee their spot in the last four, England were five goals the good by half-time before Ranger, on as a 69th-minute substitute, netted his fifth at international level.

Opponents Slovenia were without suspended Newcastle United forward Haris Vuckic.

England will now be bidding for a place in the final when they take on France on Thursday, with Serbia and hosts Ukraine locking horns in the other semi-final.
