HUNGARIAN starlet Tamas Kadar has handed Newcastle United an early pre-season fitness boost having made a full recovery from a broken leg.

The Under-21 international suffered the injury after what had been an excellent display for United's Reserves during their 2-1 win at Sunderland in January.

The fractured tibia left Kadar sidelined for the remainder of the campaign just at a time when he was beginning to edge closer to the first-team picture.

But after six months of rehabilitation work the 19-year-old defender has returned to Tyneside ready to pick up where he left off and continue his challenge for a first senior appearance.

And coach Chris Hughton told nufcTV: "Tamas is back in full training and has had a good start with the rest of the lads.

"Next season is an opportunity for him to push on into the first-team and he'll certainly be looking to do that."
