MICHAEL Owen says there is no better place to be than Newcastle when the Magpies are winning football matches.
The United skipper has been in red-hot form of late and has fired five goals in his last eight outings for Kevin Keegan's side.
Indeed, the 28-year-old was afforded a standing ovation from the travelling Toon Army when he was replaced during the closing stages of last Sunday's 4-1 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
And it was to that Geordie support which Owen paid tribute when he spoke to Newcastle World TV this week.
"The fans are world renowned for being very vocal and very supportive," said Michael.

"We have had a poor season over all, let's not forget that.
"But when things are going poorly even, they still turn up in their droves and when you're winning there is no place like Newcastle.
"You can go out with your friends and family and feel good about yourself and the whole place is buzzing.
"Hopefully now, looking towards the end of the season, we can still get good results and finish on a high.
"If that's the case then I'm sure it will be exciting and everyone won't be able to wait for next season."
Saturday's home game against Reading on Saturday is rapidly approaching sold out status.
