NEWCASTLE United will be without midfielder Emre for up to two weeks after the Turkish midfielder injured his ankle playing for the Magpies reserves on Monday.

The 27-year-old scored a fine solo goal before withdrawn at half-time during the second-string's 1-1 draw with Man United at St.James' Park.

And, while it had been hoped Emre would return to the squad for Saturday's clash with Reading, boss Kevin Keegan told Newcastle World TV on Friday that he will be without the services of the former Inter ace for at least a fortnight.

"Unfortunately Emre has injured his ankle playing for the reserves," explained KK.

"He'll be out for about two weeks which is a shame because he could have been in the squad for Reading."

Saturday's home game against Reading on Saturday is rapidly approaching sold out status.

As of Friday afternoon, the St. James' Park Box Office was announcing that SINGLES SEATS ONLY now remain for this fixture.
